Childhood is a time of learning and growth. The Raymond Hill School’s tapestry of programs brings the joy of discovery to children and youth of all ages.

The people we serve:

  • Elementary, middle school, and high school students (and qualifying students beyond 12th grade).
  • Students in need of specialized services delivered in an environment of safety and caring.
  • Students of all races and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Parents of our students.

How the program works:

  • Our curriculum is certified by the Connecticut Department of Education.
  • Our teachers are fully certified in their subject areas.
  • Teachers receive support from para-professionals to assure a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Students take traditional academic subjects, but also receive pre-vocational and vocational training.
  • Students take classes in music, art, and physical education, and have access to a state-of-the-art computer lab.
  • Elementary and middle-school students learn essential living skills and how to work in teams.
  • Elementary students learn practical skills in our Earth Science room.
  • Middle-school students can sample what it’s like to work in Culinary Program and Woodworking Shop.
  • High-school students have additional opportunities to work in our Culinary Program, Woodworking Shop, Graphic Arts program, Automobile Restoration Program and Music Studio.
  • Group therapy is an integral part of the program.
  • Therapists and consulting psychiatrists are available to provide needed clinical services.

LIVE Program:

Serves students who have an individual education plan, 18-21 years of age.

This program is for students with disabilities who qualify for programming through their local school districts beyond 12th grade. Students spend 80% of their time in the community at worksites and 20% of the time working on prevocational and independent living skills on campus.

COVID-19 SafeguardsKlingberg Family Centers

As COVID-19 continues to spread through our country and region, a number of safeguards have been put into place to protect our clients and families, staff, visitors, and surrounding communities. In addition to increased cleaning efforts, hand sanitizer, and distribution of information, we are taking the following steps to prevent the spread of the virus.

  • The Raymond Hill School will be closed at least until April 20.
  • The Extended Day Treatment Program is also closed.
  • Our group homes are closed to visitors in order to protect the welfare of our clients.
  • The Nexus Professional Development Center, Tilcon Center, and RHS auditorium have been closed for use by outside groups effective immediately.
